ELAS FESTIVAL
[MOSTRA ELAS]

Elas Festival is a project idealized by Giro Planejamento Cultural, whose goal is to encourage the equality of gender in the arts, focused on audiovisual projects and new technologies. With this purpose, the Elas Festival has been developing actions that seek to provide spaces of visibility, appreciation, diffusion, discussion and formation, based on the technical and creative capacity of women, trans and non-binary people.


The first edition of the project happened in 2017, in Salvador, in the shape of a movie festival of films directed by women, with the exhibition of films and conversations with the directors, scriptwriting consultancy and workshops, roundtables and music performances. In 2021, the second edition was organized in an online version, with focus on Training Actions: besides 13 workshops and 6 script consultancies, there was the execution of 5 live debates and a mapping, within the Elas Festival Platform, of women from Bahia working in the audiovisual domain.

SOUNDS AND IMAGES OF BAHIA
[SONS E IMAGENS DA BAHIA]

The “Sons e Imagens da Bahia” was created to be the career birthplace of future audiovisual professionals in the state. With focus on students from the state public schooling network, the project organized, free of charge, audiovisual workshops to 81 young students, besides lectures on a varied of themes. The project is a realization of the Society of House Promotion Oswaldo Crus alongside the Fiocruz Bahia and the Giro Planejamento Cultural, which besides the production also takes on the pedagogical coordination of “Sons e Imagens da Bahia”.

SMALL FILMMAKING FACTORY
[PEQUENA USINAS DE FILMES] 

An introductory course to the cinema of animation language oriented to children. The training occurred in parallel with the production of an animation short film, with a 5-minute length, using the techniques of Stop Motion. The course was free of charge and offered to 30 kids, between 10 and 11 years-old, school students from the São Vicente district, located in the village of Diogo,
Bahia. As a result, the project produced a short film “O Mistério da Palha” [The Straw Mystery].

HELLO HELLO WORLD – CINEMAS OF
INVENTION

[ALÔ ALÔ MUNDO – CINEMAS DE INVENÇÃO]

The festival “Alô alô mundo! cinemas de invenção na geração 68” [Hello hello world – cinemas of invention generation of 1968] happened from the 10 th to the 22 nd of January 2017 at the Caixa Cultural of Rio de Janeiro, and it was composed by 14 Brazilian films produced between 1968 and 1982; and 13 Spanish films shot between 1968 and 1981, which have in common the fact of being avant-garde and politically militant films as well as bringing, in their essence, practices of
rupture and revolution.
