ART DIRECTION workshop

ABOUT THE COURSE

Target Audience:

Cis women, trans and non-binary people, over 18 years old, who are interested in working in the audiovisual field

Methodology:

The workshop “Art Direction and Creative Processes” is born from a self-investigative process that the facilitator has been developing since 2019 on multidisciplinary methodologies for creating space, using other tools and sensory stimuli to think about scenography and art direction.

Through expository content about the technical structure of a film, in addition to provocations about what it is to think about art direction from disruptive references, the workshop seeks to provoke the participant to better understand her own creative process. This involves understanding the various references and constructions that compose us, embracing the various languages and sensory stimuli that the narrative encompasses and appropriating all these elements to build an art project with cohesion and narrative depth.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Andressa Mascarenhas is an architect and urban planner graduated from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and art director from the Academia Internacional de Cinema – São Paulo. She has been working as a set designer and art director since 2015, collaborating in the audiovisual market in several projects, such as short and feature films, television series, advertisements and plays.
