“Receba!” is the first feature film of the duo Pedro Perazzo and Rodrigo Luna. The plot of the film involves a purse stuffed with a content that is both valuable and illegal – besides being stolen. The chase for the purse – and the small fortune it contains – engages a former box player, a corrupted police officer that fears shed blood, his partner who is trying to quit smoking and the dangerous command of local crime, and also a boy that, being at the wrong place at the wrong time, ends up in the middle of the turmoil.

“Cais” is documentary feature film that follows the pursuit by the director, Safira Moreira, of the missing image of her grandmother, Maria do Carmo, a black woman from Bahia, who was born in the 1920s and worked her whole life as a washerwoman and a housekeeper.

A documentary feature film on menstrual cycles, in particular the first menstruation that divides childhood and adolescence of young people of the feminine gender. From testimonials of girls and women in different age ranges and fertile stages of life, the work seeks to discuss the biological, psychological and social experienced changes as well as to reflect on the representation of menstruation in audiovisual projects, mythologies and rituals.

QUITERIA

In 1822, Maria Quitéria runs away from her father’s farmer in the countryside of Bahia to enlist herself in the National Army and fight the battles for the independence of Brazil. Taken by the desire to defend her nation, Quitéria faced the prejudice of being the only woman in an environment dominated by men, politics and violence, as for becoming one of the highest symbols of bravery and liberty in the history of the country.

THE HIGH TIDE OF SYZYGIES

Inspired by the production of a poet and an Afro-Brazilian forgotten psychiatrist, two black women, recently out of a strong creative block, get together to make a collaborative work. One is a musician and wants to compose a musical-performance play; the other, a filmmaker, desires the creation of an experiential documentary film. The implication is the filming of a difficult and troubled creative process amidst the rainy season in the city of Salvador-BA.

Miguel is a Cape Verdean orphan teenage that illegally crossed the Atlantic to land in the city of Salvador driven by the desire to become a soccer player. After overcoming an immediate deportation, he was able to remain in the country thanks to Fátima, a civil servant at the Juvenile Court who was moved by his case. With a maternal relationship established with her, Miguel plunges into a storm of sensations, a profound journey into his own self.
